In diesem Video zeigen wir einen spannenden Ausschnitt aus der Arbeit an der Piaffe mit Manuel, der am Boden unterstützt. Und einmal mehr beweist Risky Business – er hat seinen eigenen Kopf! Die Piaffe ist mit all seiner Vorgeschichte nicht nur höchst anspruchsvoll für Risky aufgrund seines Körperbaus sondern auch weil die Piaffe geistig dem Pferd viel abverlangt. Wie kurz die sogenannte „Zündschnur“ sein kann, sieht man hier mehrfach! Es ist wichtig, dass man auch als Reiter dann schon so weit sein muss um wie Christina mit einem Lächeln dem Pferd entgegen zu kommen und ihm zu helfen – statt es angstvoll zu strafen.
Manuel unterstützt dabei so, dass es am Pferd ausgerichtet ist. In Risky’s Fall braucht er dazu nicht einmal die Touchierpeitsche – alleine seine Stimme ist schon Energie genug für dieses Pferd. Beachtet wie soft Christina die Zügel führt!
Mit der Zeit hat Risky sich in seine Arbeit eingefunden und akzeptiert Manuel, die Aufgabe und auch die Touchierpeitsche. Es reicht aber ein reines Zeigen in die richtige Richtung um das Engagement der Hinterhand und die Beugung der Hinterhand zu verbessern.
Mit einem ruhigen und kontrollierten Schulschritt entlässt Manuel das Pferd zufrieden aus der Arbeit um mit dem nächsten Pferd zu arbeiten.

EN: Risky Business – work on the piaffe with support from the ground
In this video we show an exciting session from working on the piaffe with Manuel supporting on the ground. And once again Risky Business proves – he has a mind of its own! The piaffe, with all history Risky brings, is not only extremely demanding for Risky because of his physique, but also because the piaffe demands a lot from the horse’s mental mindset. You will see here several times how energetic and easily Risky can turn his mind to fight instead of flight! It is important that you as a rider have to be ready to smile at the horse and help him like Christina does – instead of punishing it fearfully.
Manuel supports Risky and Christina only aligned with the horse – he never forces Risky to do more as he can accept. In Risky’s case, he doesn’t even need the whip – his voice alone is enough energy for this horse. Notice how softly Christina leads the reins!
Over time, Risky has settled into his work and accepts Manuel, the task and also the touching whip. However, just pointing in the right direction is enough to improve hindquarter engagement and hindquarter / pelvis flexion.
With a calm and controlled school step, Manuel releases the horse from work contentedly to work with the next horse.
