Kathrin Thalmüller – Hortelã (Cruzado, 11 Jahre)
Der 3-Hearts-Prozess, der Prozess der drei Herzen, ist immer etwas besonderes. Natürlich geht es hier in Deutschland nicht mit einem echten Stier in die Arena, wir geben dem Reiten aber eine andere Ausrichtung wie „nur“ Lektionen zu reiten. Wir bringen die drei Herzen von Reiter, Pferd und Stier auf eine Linie. In eine Realität und in ein Jetzt.
Wie immer beginnt Manuel das Training damit, das Pferd an den Stier zu gewöhnen. In dem Video sehen Sie die Reiterin Kathrin Thalmüller auf der Cruzado-Stute Hortelã. Wir warten darauf, dass das Pferd mit dem Hindernis einverstanden ist. Wenn wir vom Stier wegreiten drehen wir das Pferd sofort um, den „Feind“ lassen wir nicht aus dem Auge. Manuel ist streng mit seinen Schülern, weil ihm wichtig ist, dass korrekt geritten und auch gelernt wird. Jetzt ist es besonders wichtig, das Pferd wendig um den Stier reiten zu können, mit äußerem Zügel und Bein. Sie sehen wie schwierig es ist, das Pferd mit dieser Kraft und Geschwindigkeit auf den Linien zu halten und eng um den Stier zu wenden. Viel Übung ist dazu notwendig!
Aus dieser Arbeit kommen auch Lektionen wie das Opposition, die Wendung zum Stier. Trotz aller Geschwindigkeit und Reaktion muss der Reiter ruhig und gelassen bleiben. Es geht nicht darum, das Pferd aufgeregt aufzustacheln, sondern im Speed die Kontrolle zu behalten und dem Pferd Sicherheit geben zu können. Unterschätzen Sie die hohen Anforderungen nicht!

The 3 Hearts Process is always a special moment. Of course, here in Germany we don’t go into the arena with a real bull, but we give the riding a different focus than „just“ riding lessons. We bring the three hearts of rider, horse and bull into one line. Into one reality and one moment.
As usual, Manuel starts the training by getting the horse used to the bull. In the video, you can see rider Kathrin Thalmüller on the Cruzado mare Hortelã. We wait for the horse to agree to the obstacle. When we ride away from the bull, we immediately turn the horse around, we don’t take our eyes off the „enemy“. Manuel is strict with his students because it is important to him that they ride and learn correctly. Now it is particularly important to be able to ride the horse agilely around the bull, with the outside rein and outside leg. You can see how difficult it is to keep the horse on the lines with this power and speed and to turn tightly around the bull. It takes a lot of practice!
Lessons such as the opposition of the shoulders to the behind, the turn to the bull, also have their birth in this work. Despite all the speed and reaction, the rider must remain calm and composed. The aim is not to get the horse excited, but to maintain control at speed and give the horse confidence. Do not underestimate the high demands!
