Auch bei einem schon weit ausgebildeten Pferd wie Risky Business ist es wichtig, die Piaffe zu verfeinern und zu verbessern. Gerade bei einem Pferd, das schlechte Erfahrungen gemacht hat und das seelisch leicht aus dem Gleichgewicht zu bringen ist, muss man größte Vorsicht walten lassen. Das kann nur ein Profi wie Manuel so fein am Limit ausloten – denn dafür muss man das Pferd aus der Komfortzone bringen können, ohne es zu enttäuschen und zu überfordern.
Schön ist zu sehen, wie Risky Business die Hinterhand engagierter einsetzt und wie fein Manuel Jorge de Oliveira die Touchierpeitsche dirigiert, sodass sie Risky dazu bewegt, engagierter zu sein, er sich aber nicht bedroht fühlt. Besonderes Augenmerk gehört auch der Reiterin Christina Wunderlich, die Risky in dieser Übung sanft begleitet und ihm Sicherheit gibt. Man beachte vor allem die feine Hand, den leisen Sitz und die fein durchhängenden Zügel, die Verbindung zum Maul halten. So soll es sein! Risky Business rundet sich selbst und wird nicht durch den Reiter in eine Form gepresst. Am Schluss kommt der sehr gesetzte Galopp dazu, der sicherlich noch nicht perfekt ist, aber zeigt, wie stark Risky sein Becken bereits einsetzen kann.

Only a high experienced rider and trainer like Manuel can explore this so finely at the limit – because for this you have to be able to get the horse out of its comfort zone without disappointing and overtaxing him.
It’s nice to see how Risky Business uses the hindlegs and pelvis more engaged and how softly Manuel Jorge de Oliveira directs the touching whip so that Risky starts to move more engaged but he doesn’t feel threatened. The rider Christina Wunderlich, who gently accompanies Risky in this exercise and gives him security, also deserves special attention. Above all, note the fine and silent hand, the quiet seat and the soft sagging reins that build the connection to the mouth. That’s how it should be! Risky Business rounds itself and is not pressed into a shape by the rider and the reins. At the end Christina asks for a very slow canter, which is certainly not perfect yet, but shows how strongly Risky can already use his pelvis.
