Drei Ausschnitte aus dem Three Hearts Training
Teil 1: Linien
Auch - oder gerade ganz besonders - im Three Hearts Process gilt es, die Geometrie der Reitbahn zu achten und eine klare Linienführung einzuhalten. Nur allzu schnell wählen die Pferde ansonsten einen Weg von schief nach quer, entziehen sich damit der Einwirkung des Reiters und kommen auf die Vorhand.
Insbesondere ein fliegender Galoppwechsel muss stets auf einer geraden Linie geritten werden, auch wenn er von einer Volte zur nächsten führt. - Driftet das Pferd nämlich im Wechsel bereits in die nächste Volte, kommt es dabei automatisch komplett auf die Vorhand, was jegliche weiteren Manöver so lange ausschließt, bis das Pferd erneut in Balance ist.
Teil 2: Verstehen
Oder: Vom Reizen und Pokern,
denn auch der Three Hearts Process ist ein "Spiel" mit festen Spielregeln, mit denen alle Beteiligten, so insbesondere auch die Pferde, vertraut sein müssen. - Bewegt sich dann die Tourinha zum ersten Mal auf das Pferd zu, so muss dem Pferd durch Wiederholungen die Zeit gegeben werden, auch diesen neuen "Spielzug" zu verarbeiten, um dann angemessen darauf reagieren zu können.
Teil 3: Volten & Wendungen
Ein im Three Hearts Process nicht zu verachtender Baustein neben der Einheit von Reiter und Pferd (das Pferd muss hier definitiv beim Reiter sein und an den Hilfen stehen!), ist die Gymnastizierung der Pferde durch dieses besondere Training. Wie wir bereits im ersten Teil dieses Beitrags gesehen haben, bilden die Hufschlagfiguren, wie wir sie kennen, dabei nur einen sehr geringen Prozentanteil dessen, was es an Möglichkeiten der Linienführung gibt. Zusätzlich bieten Hindernisblöcke und vor allem die bewegliche Tourinha besondere Anreize und Schwierigkeitsgrade, um das Pferd präzise zu lenken und zu wenden.
Von alledem unabhängig bietet der Plastikstier aber auch noch eine ganz besondere Trainingsmöglichkeit konkret für den Reiter: Das Schieben dieses sperrigen Gefährts auf dem Sandboden der Reitbahn stellt eine unfassbar hohe Anforderung an die Kondition, um einem galoppierenden Pferd damit folgen zu können!

Part 1: Lines
Also - or especially - in the Three Hearts Process, it is important to pay attention to the geometry of the arena and to adhere to clear lines. Otherwise, the horses will all too quickly choose a path from crooked to cross, thus evading the rider's influence and coming to the shoulders.
In particular, a flying change must always be ridden in a straight line, even if it leads from one volte to the next. - If the horse is already drifting into the next volte, it automatically comes completely to the shoulders, which excludes any further maneuvers until the horse is in balance again.
Part 2: Understanding
Or: about bidding and playing poker,
because the Three Hearts Process is also a "game" with fixed rules that everyone involved, especially the horses, must be familiar with. - If the Tourinha then moves towards the horse for the first time, the horse must be given the time through repetitions to process this new "move" in order to be able to react appropriately.
Part 3: Volts & Turns
A component not to be despised in the Three Hearts Process alongside the unity of rider and horse (the horse must definitely be with the rider and on the aids here), is the gymnasticization of the horses through this special training. As we saw in the first part of this post, conventional moves as we know them play a very minor part, as they only form a fraction of the possibilities we have for utilising lines. In addition, obstacle blocks and, above all, the agile Tourinha offer special incentives and levels of difficulty to steer and turn the horse precisely.
Regardless of all of this, the plastic bull also offers the rider a very special training opportunity: Pushing this bulky vehicle on the sandy ground of the riding arena places an incredibly high requirement on the condition in order to be able to follow a galloping horse with it!
