Nun wird es spannend, und für jedes Kind sicherlich ein toller Moment: Galoppieren in der Gruppe! Das ist nicht einfach, Koordination und Abstimmung in der Gruppe ist etwas anderes verglichen zum alleine Reiten. Pia’s Aufgabe ist neben Gangart und Linie jetzt eben das Management von Abständen und Tempo in Relation zum vorangaloppierenden Pferd. Aufgrund des Tempos ist das für die Kinder keine einfache Angelegenheit, und wir erlauben nicht, dass die Pferde „irgendwie“ hintereinander her rennen.
Die Anweisung zu etwas höheren Händen hilft Pia auch, sich nicht festzuziehen am Maul. Das Training wird auch den Möglichkeiten der Kinder angepasst, es hat keinen Sinn Kinder und Pferde zu etwas zu zwingen, was beide noch nicht leisten können. Für Kinder ist es besonders wichtig auch zu lernen, wie sie ihre Pferde in neuen Situationen handeln und kontrollieren können.

Now it gets exciting, and certainly a great moment for every child: cantering in a group! This is not easy, lines, distance and coordination in a group is something different compared to riding alone. Pia’s task, in addition to gait and line, is now to manage distances and speed in relation to the horse cantering in front. Due to the speed, this is not an easy task for the children, and we don’t allow the horses to “somehow” run after each other.
Instructing Pia to hold her hands a little higher also helps her not to tighten our pulling on the reins. The training is also adapted to the children’s abilities; there is no point in forcing children and horses to do something that neither of them can do yet. It is particularly important for children to learn how to handle and control their horses in new situations.
